Week 2: More Wins, More Five-Set Drama

Week 2 of the Metropolitan Volleyball League (MVL) brought another round of action on Saturday, September 26, with both the men's and women's competitions producing plenty to talk about.

From five-set battles to straight-set victories, teams continued their push as the league table begins to take shape.

MEN'S RESULTS 👊🏽

Amuwo Spikers VC continued their strong start to the season with a 3–0 victory over Satellite Volleyball Club.

Phoenix Volleyball Club and Unity Volleyball Club went the distance, with Phoenix eventually taking the match 3–2 in one of the weekend's five-set battles.

NAFRC Spikers picked up a convincing 3–1 win over Lekki Volleyball Club, adding another result to their campaign.

There was another 3–1 result as Street Friendly VC defeated Icons VC by the same scoreline.

The final men's game saw Legacy Volleyball Club take a 3–0 victory over VB Life.

WOMEN'S RESULTS 🏐

The women's competition also had some interesting results.

NAFRC Spikers made their first appearance in the women's competition and got their campaign off to a strong start with a 3–0 victory over Satellite Volleyball Club.

Legacy Volleyball Club continued their winning run with another 3–0 victory, this time against Phoenix Volleyball Club.

Then came one of the closest women's games of the week.

YVM High Potential battled Lekki Volleyball Club in a five-set match, eventually securing a 3–2 victory.

And Amuwo Spikers VC also recorded a straight-set win, defeating Street Friendly VC 3–0.

WEEK 2 IN A NUTSHELL 👀

There was a bit of everything this weekend — straight-set wins, five-set battles and teams making their mark as the season progresses.

For the men, Amuwo Spikers continued their campaign with a clean 3–0 result, while Phoenix VC had to fight through five sets against Unity VC.

On the women's side, NAFRC Spikers finally entered the competition with a 3–0 win, while YVM High Potential and Lekki VC gave us another five-set contest.

With more matches still to come, the standings will continue to change as teams fight for points and position.

The season is still young, but every match counts.
